Expression of interest - eLearning Content Coordinator

BACKGROUND

This Expression of Interest is opened to all members of the EDGE Foundation, especially its community members.

As an EPD member, EDGE participates in implementing the EU-funded WYDE (Women and Youth Democratic Empowerment) initiative, a global program to promote youth participation in political and democratic processes. Within WYDE, EDGE is tasked with two workstreams: a) researching costs related to youth participation in electoral processes and b) designing and delivering on-site training and distance learning activities for citizen observation groups that are committed to democratic participation and opportunities for young citizens. Within the latter, EDGE is responsible for the design and delivery of an e-learning course aimed at promoting the participation of youth in democratic processes, with a focus on citizen electoral observation projects.

Within this context, EDGE is seeking to contract the services of an e-learning Content Coordinator, to coordinate the work of the project’s WYDE partners, in their capacity as content experts for this e-learning, and the technical partner who will deliver the technical development of the e-learning course.

THE POSITION
EDGE is looking for a learning and development expert, with significant expertise in digital learning, notably self-paced e-learning, pedagogical design and coordination experience.

It is foreseen that the role will include:

  • - Responsibility for ensuring that the e-learning responds to the outlined needs, is internally cohesive and reaches the required learning objectives and overall course aims, needs and expectations. To this end the person will develop clear guidelines and supporting content for all content experts as well as making themselves available to provide support and clarify any questions.
  • - Responsibility for reviewing and edit the storyboards submitted by the content experts to ensure that the content and interactivities are in line with the project’s goals. In addition to the storyboards, the e-learning Content Coordinator will review and edit all animation, audio and video components for the course.
  • - Responsibility for coordinating all content and functionality interactions with content experts.
  • - Responsibility for liaising with the technical partner at all stages of the project, notably in the initial phases by ensuring that the interface is within the required visibility standards.

Requirements:

  • - A bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, or another relevant field.
  • - Experience in designing, developing and implementing learning programmes, with a  focus on digital learning programmes and specifically self-paced e-learnings.
  • - Current knowledge of effective digital learning and development methodologies, curriculum development and tools.
  • - Experience as an L&D Coordinator, Training Manager or similar, ideally for digital learning programmes.
  • - Experience working with different Learning Management Systems and practices, notably Moodle.
  • - Excellent planning and organisational skills, outstanding attention to detail and track-record meeting deadlines and targets.
  • - High professional level of English, knowledge of other languages is desirable.
  • - Knowledge of democracy support and electoral observation programmes, particularly citizen electoral observation.
